Netmore LoRaWAN expands to Switzerland through roaming agreement

Netmore and Swiss telecoms provider Swisscom have signed a cooperation agreement which concerns roaming between their respective IoT networks (LoRaWAN). Netmore’s Swedish and international customers will gain full access to Swisscom’s nationwide network in Switzerland, while Swisscom will be able to offer Netmore’s growing LoRaWAN coverage to its customers.

Netmore continues to grow – customers and partners gain nationwide LoRaWAN coverage in Switzerland

The roaming agreement between Netmore and Swisscom means that Netmore customers will now be able to connect devices on Swisscom’s nationwide network in Switzerland. Service developers, sensor manufacturers and other IoT actors which form part of the Netmore ecosystem will thus gain better opportunities to offer new and established IoT solutions to more geographic markets as a result of this extended coverage.

“Internationalization and the ability to connect several geographic markets is a central part of our strategy and an important factor which contributes to establishing LoRaWAN as an access technology/protocol for large-scale IoT. This is also a key part of our value proposition because we see that more and more partners need coverage that stretches across multiple geographic markets,” says Andreas Stenhager, CCO, Netmore

Solutions for water leak detection inaugurate the collaboration

In addition to the launch of roaming between networks, the collaboration between Netmore and Swisscom shall also begin with the launch of a solution within LoRaWAN-based water leak detection.

The solution is provided by Swedish IoT company Quandify which, together with Netmore’s IoT coverage in Sweden, will launch its clamp-on device CubicMeter on the Swedish market.

The solution has been successfully established on the Swiss market and is available on Netmore Market.

One LoRaWAN network – multiple geographic markets

Choosing Netmore as an IoT operator means several advantages for service developers and other IoT players.

  • As the Netmore IoT network grows, so does the addressable market for our customers.
  • Partners do not need to make separate network integrations for each market they wish to join.
  • One point of contact for all customer support, regardless of geographic market.
  • Cost-effective connectivity and coverage guarantee for large-scale projects.

Netmore offers nationwide LoRaWAN coverage in several countries – paving the way for large-scale IoT projects

Netmore and ECN have initiated a major expansion of LoRaWAN in Europe in 2022. It now offers LoRaWAN in Sweden, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and Denmark. In addition, there are roaming agreements that provide coverage also in Finland and Switzerland.

The network deployment, combined with Netmore’s European ‘coverage guarantee’ and ‘coverage on demand’ enables the deployment of nationwide IoT projects within each country. Furthermore, Netmore, ECN and Polar Structure are also opening doors for large-scale IoT of societal benefit spanning several countries in Europe.
